Click on Climate
Click on Climate is an outdoor field day program aimed at helping youth ages 8-13 understand some of the concepts associated with climate change and its interactions with ecosystems. The program helps students to learn what they can do to help minimize their own greenhouse gas emissions at home or at school.
The main component of the program is a field day, in which you can choose activities you want to run. The actual field trip requires minimal onsite setup time and can be delivered in a variety of locations and seasons. Time requirements are also flexible and the program can easily be adjusted for an afternoon or a few days.
The wonderful thing about this program is that it’s flexible! You may use this program for a Scout or Guide group, a class, a camp, a watershed group, a special event, or with children in your family!
Each kit is designed for 1 leader and 5 children but the program can easily be used with larger groups! The activities are grouped into stations. For larger groups, each group of participants could rotate between stations.
