Testimonials and Comments

“I am a grade 9 student who came to this competition not knowing what to expect.  You guys helped me and my group out so much!  Thank you for that.  Also, due to how amazing everything was planned, I can only guess how much work you put into this.  The Envirothon has been one of the most fun and enlightening experiences I’ve had this year.  It made me appreciate Northern Saskatchewan to an extent I hadn’t before and made me realize that we have to do everything in our power to preserve the wildlife and the beauty of this earth.  So ultimately, I would like to thank you for helping to provide this opportunity for all of us Envirothon Students!”

“I was a last minute addition to this team. I am grateful I chose not to turn down the offer.  From my experience here, I have not only learned the science behind climate change, but I have also learned the science behind climate change, but I have also witnessed where these theories come from and how to apply these concepts.

I understand that the economy is at a low point at the moment, but it is important that the students of today understand these concepts in order to sustain not only the environment, but also a comfortable economy.  This program is specifically important because it involves a lot of field work as well as logistics.  Not only do we learn the concepts we are asked to apply them to come up with a solution to a real-life probable problem.

These are the skills that the students of today need to learn to insure a substantial amount of knowledge and the ability to solve the problems that are sure to come.”

“I would like to extend my thank-you for helping make the 2009 Saskatchewan Envirothon possible.  This is the first year that I have been involved and brought students out to this fabulous event.  I was able to involve 5 Grade 9 students in this very exciting event and they are thrilled to be able to experience Science in this manner.  All of them are on board for next year’s event, so I sincerely hope that you consider contributing to the Sask. Envirothon again next year.”

“Due to the opportunities created by the Envirothon, I have learned much about forestry.  This has caused a great interest in the forest industry and perhaps sparked an interest in employment in this field.  I am sure that many other of my friends and fellow members of Envirothon feel the same way.”
               Johnathon L., Luther College.

“I have always wanted to learn more about the world around me.  However, simply learning from books is not nearly as rewarding as experiencing the natural world outside.  The Envirothon is a fun and educational way to learn about the environment I live in.  It also helps to teach me how I can help.  Participating is helping me to be more conscious of my surroundings… The competition has given me a stronger need to help the world around me. The experience and knowledge are a huge benefit.  I have an intense passion to contribute to a solution.”
               Alina M., Swift Current.

“The Saskatchewan Envirothon of 2009 could not have been possible without your support.  This year in Waskesiu was an unforgettable and unique learning experience and I’m sure every participant and volunteer is looking forward to another amazing year.  Despite uncertain economic times you have aided our cause.  Thank you for your consideration and we hope you can donate to our educational experience once again.”
               Robert N., Yellow Grass.

“Our planet is facing many problems and because of Envirothon I believe that kids will have the knowledge and skills needed to help make a difference once they get older… without the knowledge gained through Envirothon the environmental issues that face our would could end up seeming impossible to resolve.  I don’t see myself as an environmentalists in the future but at least I know about the issues and my part in them.”
               Benny A., Regina Beach

"Envirothon helps students to appreciate the environment of Saskatchewan.  They now have a greater desire to do something constructive to preserve it.”
