Water Quality Database - Tool for Teachers and Group Leaders

Purpose

This database was developed as a tool for teachers and group leaders to track their water quality results from year to year.   This will allow them to use the data to help expand the information into other subject matters.

Important notes:  The water quality obtained from test strips is not to be used as a scientific basis for water quality.  Water quality can change depending upon the time of day your sample was taken, the time of year you sample, the flow of water, and other factors.   In order to use this tool, you will need to try and take your measurements at the same location and same time of the year.

Additional Activities for the Water Quality Database Tool

Graphing:  You can have students plot on graph their water quality results over time.   The date the sample was taken can be placed on the x-axis and the concentration (value you received) on the y-axis.

It is our plan to add additional activities to this section.  If you have a suggestion, please email partners@saskriverbasin.ca
