Barbara has held a number of positions within Ducks Unlimited since 1991 including Area Biologist, Saskatoon Area Manager, Saskatchewan Education Specialist and currently as Saskatchewan Policy Specialist. As part of the provincial Industry and Government Relations team she works on issues associated with wetland and habitat loss.
Barbara received her Master of Science Degree from the University of Saskatchewan and has a broad range of field experience including work on seabirds, various North American mammals, waterfowl and other water-birds, reptiles and amphibians. She has worked on vegetation studies in the boreal forest, prairie grasslands and parklands and has had the good fortune to work in wetlands across Canada.
Additional experience includes boreal bird surveys, breeding bird surveys in Prairie Canada and toxicological research on birds nesting on the Great Lakes and on lakes in northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba. She has written or co-authored technical reports and management plans for provincial governments and writes ecological articles for local media and special interest groups. Work with Ducks Unlimited Canada fits well with her many outdoor interests and active involvement in all aspects of the family farm.
