Mairin Loewen was born in Saskatoon and grew up in Ward 7 where she attended school. She graduated from Carleton University (2005) with a B.A. in Political Science and holds an M.A. from the University of Saskatchewan (2013). She has worked for the provincial government, the Saskatchewan Medical Association, and presently works at the University of Saskatchewan. Mairin was first elected in 2011, and presently serves on the Standing Policy Committee on Transportation, Standing Policy Committee on Environment, Utilities & Corporate Services, Accessibility Advisory Committee, Tourism Saskatoon Board of Directors, Partners for the Saskatchewan River Basin, the Meewasin Board of Directors, and the Library Board. Mairin spends her spare time volunteering, playing sports, and staying active in the local music community.
